1. I use SSH, why do I need STADRIN?

SSH provides encrypted connection to remote computer however, login is based on static and potentially insecure passwords.

2. Can I use STADRIN for ORACLE administration based on Linux system?

Yes! If your system is ORACLE based you can login securely using a dynamic password to a Linux server thus providing system security.

3.How can I easily import a large number of tokens?

The import of tokens into a user database can be achieved through the use of a single command, that automatically imports all tokens. It is executed from a DPX file, that contains all token information and is secured by a 32bit key. This key is available with a license and is necessary to execute the import.

4. What type of services can be used with STADRIN?

In general, STADRIN can be used with all services that support PAM (Pluggable Authentication Module).
Tested on these services:
login, gdm, xdm, xscreensaver, su, sudo, sshd, apacheconf, bindconf, dateconfig, firewall-config, ftp,samba, reboot.

5. Where can I use a challenge/response (C/R) method?

Due to technical limitations C/R can only be used with login services and with Digipass PRO 300 tokens. The token GO 1 does not support this method.

6. What is the difference between GO 1 and Digipass PRO 300?

The GO 1 is a simple token, which can only provide the Response Only method (One-Time-Passwords - OTP). Each time the token is accessed a new OTP is generated to allow system access. The strength of this token is it's simplicity and ease of use.
The Digipass PRO 300 is a full scope token that is PIN protected. This token supports both methods (Response only and Challenge/Response) and ensures a higher level of security. Usage is slightly more complex than the GO 1.

7. Can I use Challenge/Response with the GO 1 token?

No! Challenge/Response can only be used with the Digipass PRO 300 token.

8. How can I change a PIN with the Digipass PRO 300?

Press the triangle button for three seconds. Then enter your old PIN followed by a new PIN twice.

9. How can I trial STADRIN?

10. What is the lifetime of the tokens?

The guaranteed lifetime of the tokens is 7 years with daily usage, however they can function up to 10 years. After this time a replacement should be purchased and assigned to the user.

11. Can I use STADRIN for accessing Samba?

Yes! However, it is necessary to use unencrypted (plain text) passwords; this is not a problem as encrypted passwords are not used with OTP.
